You need to have proven track record of managing a successful older person's care home or be a highly proficient deputy manager who is looking for the next step up in your career development. You need to be resilient, to have drive and energy with the ambition to succeed. To have the skills and managerial ability to motivate, lead and inspire the staff team. You need to be a champion of values and principles and be able to pass these on by example. You need to have strong understanding and working knowledge of all the regulations and legislation which underpin the regulated activity including the CQC's Fundamental Standards. You need to be a competent commercial manager with demonstrated sales ability. You need to have excellent administration and computer skills. You need to have strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in written form.
About our client
They are an established family run care home company having three care homes all around the Cary Park in 'Beautiful Babbacombe'. The Care Home is a home with a longstanding "good" reputation which has recently dipped to "requires improvement" with accommodation for up to 34 older people with a range of needs and abilities. Although the home has 34 residents it still has a warm, homely, welcoming and friendly atmosphere. There is a strong committed and supportive team. There is 24 hour support from a maintenance team, a recruitment and training officer, a accounts assistant and the two company directors who are all based at the head office some 10 minutes' drive away.
The Role
As the registered manager you'll be responsible for:
·To manage the home on a day to day basis maintaining high standards and ensuring that the home complies and meets with the Fundamental Standards and Legislation laid down by the Health and Social Care Act 2008(Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014(Part 3), the Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009 (Part 4) and all other relevant Legislation.
·act as the line manager for all the team including the ancillary staff members.
·be fundamental for setting the culture and ethos of the home which is to actively create an open, positive, caring and inclusive atmosphere.
·ensure that Person Centred Care is delivered in a manner that enhances each person's quality of life.
·to recruit, induct, guide, mentor, train and supervise members of the staff team ensuring that they are skilled and competent to carry out their roles with confidence and professionalism.
·To have systems in place to assess, monitor and improve the quality and safety of the home. Which includes audits analysis and action planning.
·meet financial objectives which are revenue enhancement and cost control.
·Develop strong networks and positive relationships with stakeholders, external professionals and the local community.
·Be responsible for staffing rotas, weekly reports, absence and sickness monitoring.
·To establish positive trusting and supportive relationships to residents their families, representatives and friends.
·To be proactive in promoting the home and the services we offer to prospective services users, any commissioning organisations and other stakeholders.

Essential Requirements:
·Care Home Manager or Registered Manager status or highly proficient and experienced Deputy Manager
·NVQ4/equivalent or higher (or working towards)
·Proven managerial /supervisory experience.
·Experience and in depth knowledge of looking after older people with a range of needs including those living with dementia
·Have in-depth commercial knowledge and understanding of the sector in which we work and be able to negotiate funding from both private and care trust clients.
·Detailed knowledge and understanding of the Health and Social Care Act the regulations and Fundamental Standards.
·To have working knowledge of all legislation which underpins the Care Home.
