School Groundsman – Nr Ipswich, Suffolk
Grade: 5/6  £22,462 - £25,801 – Prorated 37.5 hours per week AYR

Our client is a day and boarding preparatory school for boys and girls in the village of Brettenham, Suffolk. Founded in 1862, the school currently accommodates about 120 boys and 70 girls between the ages of 2 and 13 years.
 
A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic Groundsman to help deliver the School's aims and objectives by ensuring the provision of an efficient and effective site and facilities service, and a safe, pleasant environment for staff students and visitors, which supports teaching and learning.

The successful candidate is likely to have:

Understanding of child protection issues
Experience in turf and sports pitch preparation and maintenance.
Ability to use and demonstrate all necessary skills to operate machinery to the highest standards.
Knowledge and understanding of all current health and safety legislation.
Ability to work effectively both in collaboration with other professionals/teams and also
on own initiative
Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to relate to young people, parents,
colleagues and external agencies
Excellent organisational skills / Time management / Ability to prioritise and organise
own workload / able to work to deadlines
Basic IT skills, sufficient to maintain records send and receive messages e.g. working
knowledge of Microsoft office Excel, Word, Outlook email (or prepared to train)
Handyman skills

Working Hours: Monday to Friday (07:30-16:30) all year round, including occasional weekend duties.
