Occupational Therapist - Mansfield, Nottinghamshire
Maternity cover contract (April 2022 to July 2023), 35 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (40 weeks during term time plus up to 5 days of work during school closure or Saturdays as required)
Annual salary:   Scale point 6; £29,788 - £33,702 (plus 1.5% unconsolidated (non-pensionable) allowance).
 
Our client is a non-maintained day and residential school for pupils aged between 5 - 19 years, who have severe and complex speech, language and communication difficulties (including Asperger's Syndrome) with associated learning and/or behavioural difficulties. 
 
They have an exciting opportunity for a fully qualified Occupational Therapist.to be responsible for co-managing (along with the Head of Therapy) an integrated Occupational Therapy service across the school and for providing Occupational Therapy as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to the pupils of the school in line with the aims, objectives and development plan of the school and to participate in the development of service to and for the pupils of the school and their carers.
 
As an OT with at least 3 years' experience of working with children, you will have the opportunity to work within an expanding team with clinical responsibility for OT and SI input. Training of staff, professionals and parents is also encouraged and supported. You will enjoy the chance to work within a well-resourced department, (including a resourced Sensory Integration room) with a complex caseload, where intensive therapy with pupils is part of the routine. You will have access to external clinical supervision and a Mentor and take part in regular CPD sessions.  If you believe you can help our young people to develop their potential at school, in our residential setting, at home and in their communities and are looking for a fresh challenge, then this role may be just what you are looking for.
 
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children and young people with speech, language and communication needs, experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team, will be a SI Practitioner to module 3, can prioritise workload of self/others, work flexibly and will be HCPC and RCOT registered.  The post is maternity cover and handover periods in April 2022 then in July 2023 would be encouraged.
