Residential Matron - Nr Horsham

Our client is a leading country boarding prep school for boys and girls aged 7 to 13.
 
A vacancy has arisen for a suitably qualified candidate to be responsible for running an area of boarding, including working alongside the other matrons and liaising and working with the School Nurse as well as providing First Aid care for all visiting children, parents and staff.
 
Duties are as follows:
 
·In charge of running an area of boarding, including working alongside the other matrons and gappers and liaising and working with the Nurse.
·Making sure that all dormitories and changing rooms are clean and tidy.
·Laundry
·Put clean clothes away in lockers.
·Provide First Aid care for all visiting children, parents and staff.
·Being in the dining room for all meals and breaks to check on eating and table manners.
·Sleep in school during term time (not including of time off).
·Be available to be woken up in the night when on duty.
·To care for children in the sick bay.
·Wake the children up at 7.00am and make sure that they are all washed and dressed ready for breakfast at 7.30am.
·Get children ready for bed and make sure that bed times are as exact as possible.
·To patrol dormitories until all lights are out and afterwards until there is quiet.
·Make sure that children have clean clothes and have changed bed linen weekly.
·Supervise showers after games and in the evenings.
·Be available for early returnees after exeats.
 
In addition, The Matron team are usually required to work for 3 or 4 days before the children start term and at the end of the each term are needed for 1 or 2 days.
