School Catering Assistant - Bristol
40 hrs per week, 42 weeks per year (term time only)
Actual Salary per annum U21, £15.052.80, Over21-22, £17,656.80, Over23, £18,278.40
 
Our client's School is a new, exciting and innovative provision which will offer full time education to children from 9-16 years who have significant/complex social, emotional or educational difficulties
 
They are seeking to appoint a staff member to work as part of the catering team. Ideally you will have experience of working in a catering environment and able to manage and prioritise a varied workload. A Food Hygiene certificate would be advantageous; however, full training will be provided. The successful candidate must have excellent customer service skills, be personal and friendly and willing to learn and develop. Experience of working with vulnerable young people with learning disabilities would be an advantage, as you will be required to work with students under the supervision of the food and nutrition teacher.
 
Main Duties to include:
Preparation of food and cooking
Cleaning of food areas, including the kitchen, its surrounds and equipment
The serving of meals ensuring presentation is to the required standard
To ensure food hygiene and health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times
Ordering food under the direction of the food and nutrition teacher
A flexible and professional approach to work is required
