At our client's beautiful school in Minchinhampton, they are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Maintenance Assistant to join their busy team helping to deliver safe, well maintained facilities.
 
The role is permanent and hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.30pm with a 30 minute daily lunch break. (Lunch is provided during term-time). Some flexibility will be needed during emergencies, for which time-off in lieu will be given. The postholder will also participate with colleagues on a Saturday morning rota on a 'one week in four' basis during term-time only (approximately 8 per year). The following Friday afternoon is then taken off in lieu.
 
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is able to work unsupervised, is highly motivated and flexible, ideally with electrical qualifications/ experience. The role involves undertaking a wide range of planned and reactive premises maintenance work such as minor plumbing, unblocking drains, decorating, emergency repairs/ making safe, as well as undertaking statutory checks e.g. fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and legionella flushing. Training will be provided where required. As part of the wider Estates team, you will also undertake general duties such as portering, distributing deliveries and moving furniture.
